How To Research Purchases Made With Your Phone Bill

Bill Summary Page While each telephone company has its own individual design for bills they send to consumers, a typical landline telephone bill is usually laid out like this.

Bill Insert Page Upon receiving billing information for a service that you purchased from an authorized merchant, your telephone company will include the charge on your telephone bill. The service is listed as a bill insert page. The phone bill insert will have details on the purchase and the service provider.

Merchant, Charge Details and Contact Information Be sure to search for terms like “Billed on Behalf of” or “Miscellaneous Charges and Services.” If you spot a charge under these categories, be sure you or someone in your household authorized the charge listed on the bill page insert.

Your phone company must provide the merchant name, product description and amount for the service. Contact the merchant directly if you have any questions.
